According to comScore data, Russians are the most dependent on social networks of all Europe. This company says that an average Russian spends 9.6 hours per month connected to social networks, only exceeded by Argentines and Brazilians.

VK.com (VKontakte)
It was first launched in 2007, and it's harshly criticized due to its file-sharing possibility. It's used mostly by the younger population, even though the company declares having aprox 60% of users older than 25. Some consider this social network to be a Facebook copycat. Odnoklassniki It was created in 2006, becoming the pioneer in this area. Recently, it shows a slight downward trend in losing users, that are migrating into Facebook or vKontakte. Moi Mir It's the third most popular in Russia, part of the web service Mail.ru, similar to Google+ and Google. In 2014, it had 25million Russian users, approximetly the same number of Facebook users in Russia the same year. |
